Low back pain plagues our society. More than eighty percent of the population will have low back pain at some time in their life. About half of all adults will have back pain in any given year. A recent Wall Street Journal article estimates it may cost the health-care system more than $90 billion annually! Back pain is the second most common neurological ailment in the United States — only headache is more common. It is often the first cause of disability and the number one cause of disruption of well being and quality of life. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) states that "back pain is the most costly musculoskeletal problem in the United States." Obviously, we are not taking care of our backs properly, which is why the LumbarROM was created.
If you have back pain you know how difficult it can be to do simple everyday activities such as getting in and out of a car. Picking up your child can be nearly impossible, and some find it difficult to even sit down. Stretching and strengthening of lumbar musculature has found to be one of the most effective treatments of choice to deal with low back pain. It's time to start maintaining and treating the low back appropriately. Motion is vital, Motion is Life.
